Conor McGregor Challenges Floyd Mayweather to STUNNING Rematch

Ever since Conor McGregor crossed over to boxing to face Floyd Mayweather in 2017, the combat sports world hasn’t come anywhere close to seeing a spectacle as big or exciting.

Even though the legitimacy of the fight was questioned at the time, to see two of the biggest and best fighters with the boldest personalities from different combat sports clash was truly epic, and a fight with that amount of hype around it will probably not happen for a very long time. Although it is hard to see a fight with as much hype as that happening soon, it doesn’t mean that McGregor and Mayweather won’t meet again.

Even though Mayweather is retired from professional boxing and McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC in over four and a half years, the two combat sports superstars have always shown interest in a rematch, likely for financial reasons.

As a result of a brand-new social media post from ‘The Notorious,’ talk of a potential rematch is now circulating yet again after the Irishman laid down a shock challenge.

Conor McGregor has been claiming for months that he will be making his UFC return at the highly anticipated White House event they will be hosting this upcoming summer. Although Michael Chandler has always, and still seemingly is, the front-runner to face the Irishman on the front lawn of the White House, McGregor has taken to social media to challenge Floyd Mayweather to an MMA fight at the highly anticipated event.

During the build-up to their boxing match in 2017, Mayweather claimed he would be willing to crossover to MMA to fight ‘The Notorious’ inside the Octagon. McGregor brought those comments up in a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, and challenged the undefeated boxing legend to a rematch, but this time in MMA.

See McGregor’s post below:

Although McGregor’s post was a challenge to Mayweather, where he claimed he would finish him in just 10 seconds, the Irishman reassured Chandler and claimed he was “just kidding.”

Although Mayweather making his MMA debut at the age of 48 years old against a former UFC world champion seems extremely unlikely, money talks, and especially at an event as big as the White House card the UFC is going to put on, the money could be tempting.
