Danny Dyer Would Let Jarrod Bowen Leave West Ham For Two Clubs
Jarrod Bowen has been nothing short of incredible since joining West Ham United from Hull City in January 2020. The Englishman has been an extremely loyal servant at the club, but that could be tested if the Hammers are relegated.
Since his £22 million transfer six years ago, Bowen has netted 80 goals in over 250 appearances and has become the talisman at the London Stadium. His place in history is already sealed, after he netted a dramatic late winner in the UEFA Europa Conference League final in 2023.
That delicate chipped effort secured the east London club’s first piece of major silverware since the 1980 FA Cup. Bowen hasn’t just racked up strong achievements on the pitch, but he’s gained family ties to West Ham off it, too.
Danny Dyer Would ‘Suffer’ Two Transfers For Jarrod Bowen
Bowen married into one of the most well-known east London families he possibly could’ve when he tied the knot with reality TV star Dani Dyer in 2025. Of course, that now means Bowen calls notorious actor Danny Dyer his father-in-law.
Dyer is a massive West Ham fan and has often spoken about his delight at the Hammers’ captain now being part of his family. Adding to that, the entire Dyer clan live in east London, and Bowen would have to think hard about relocating.
15 Best Wingers in the Premier League Right Now [Ranked]
The Premier League is filled with talent, but the incredible depth on the wings is phenomenal.
Speaking to talkSPORT in 2025, The Football Factory star was quizzed over whether he’d accept the West Ham captain jumping ship to any other club. At first, he shut down the idea of an Arsenal move, saying: “He’s never going to do that. Why would he? What’s in it for him?”
The prospect of another cross-London switch was quickly denied, too. This time, Dyer ruled out Chelsea as a possible option: “Why would he go there?”
However, two teams did come up in the conversation that Dyer claimed he could ‘suffer’ seeing his son-in-law join. First was European giants, and possibly the biggest club in the world, Real Madrid: “Real Madrid? Yeah, for sure.”
Interestingly, it appears only one Premier League club would leave Dyer ‘over the moon’ for Bowen. Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City were given as the other acceptable destination. Dyer said:
“Listen, it’s his career. City? I wouldn’t mind that, I’d suffer that.
“I’m not going to lie, it would hurt, but he’s a grown man and he makes his own decisions. It would obviously hurt, but of course I would be over the moon for him.”
Major Rivals ‘Leading Race’ For West Ham’s Bowen
With West Ham sitting in the relegation places under Nuno Espirito Santo, Bowen and his teammates will need to start facing the reality that they could be lining up in the second-tier of English football next season.
However, there will be no shortage of clubs interested in the 29-year-old forward, who can play across the frontline. Recent reports have suggested London rivals Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites to snap up the England international. Spurs would likely be another team on Dyer’s no list.
