December 2nd: Tuesday's English Double – 7/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

While a pulsating midweek Premier League fixture list might have drawn to a close, the action doesn’t stop there as we roll onto a Friday night that includes plenty of eye-catching affairs from across the continent.

Alongside a heavyweight showdown from Lisbon as Benfica meet arch-rivals Sporting Lisbon, we also have some noteworthy battles from the likes of France, Spain and Germany.

So, for those of you looking to stick on a Friday flutter, we have taken a glance at some of the most attractive European betting markets.

19:00 Le Mans vs Amiens

While Le Mans might have only made their Ligue 2 return this season, Les Mucistes have embarked on a real fairytale. Only continuing to receive a string of plaudits from across France’s second-tier, Patrick Videira’s side are riding a major wave of momentum. Last seen in Ligue 2 action securing an impressive 2-1 victory away at Pau FC, they have now won all of their previous three appearances across all competitions. Despite enduring a stuttering start to proceedings back in August, Le Mans have come roaring back in some style. In fact, last seen extending on their Coupe de France adventure as they edged past Villeneuve-la-Garenne, Friday’s hosts are remarkably unbeaten in all of their last 12 consecutive outings – a purple patch that stems all the way back to September 12th. Smelling another potential opportunity this weekend, Videira’s side can astonishingly find a route into the play-off places here. It should also be highlighted, Les Mucistes have not conceded a single strike at the Stade Marie-Marvingt in over 270 minutes of action.

Left frustrated last season as they eventually had to settle for a bottom-half finish, Amiens have once again shown some real cause for concern this time around. Rightfully coming under a huge amount of scrutiny, Omar Daf’s men are at the heart of a relegation scrap and the pressure is certainly mounting on the former Dijon boss. Last seen in Ligue 2 action slumping to a 2-1 defeat at home against Guingamp, the Unicorns should be bracing themselves for another tricky test this weekend. In fact, signing off October with a routine 3-1 defeat at the hands of Troyes, Amiens have now lost all of their previous four consecutive Ligue 2 appearances by an aggregate score of 10-5. Showing some worrying defensive issues, Friday’s guests are enduring their longest winless rut of the 2025/26 campaign. Getting November underway with an action-packed 3-2 defeat at home against Grenoble, Amiens have also lost three of their previous four second-tier showdowns away from the Stade de la Licorne.

20:15 Benfica vs Sporting Lisbon

While Benfica might be enduring a public Champions League nightmare, Jose Mourinho’s men are enjoying an eye-catching domestic flurry. Although the Eagles might have a real battle on their hands in the race to reclaim their Primeira Liga crown, the former Manchester United boss has seen his squad enjoy an extended flurry. Last seen clinching a 2-1 victory away at Nacional, they have now won each of their previous three appearances across all competitions by an aggregate score of 6-1. Despite marking their return from November’s international break with an action-packed 2-2 stalemate at home against Casa Pia, Mourinho’s side have suffered just a pair of defeats from any of their previous 11 appearances across all competitions – a run that stems back to the end of September. Sat just three points adrift of their arch-rivals, Benfica should also be excited by their domestic success on home soil. Including a stellar 5-0 romp against Arouca, Friday’s hosts have not suffered a single Primeira Liga defeat at the Estadio da Luz so far this calendar year.

Making real history last season as they successfully defended their Primeira Liga crown, Sporting Lisbon have underlined their status as Portugal’s ultimate poster boys. With their sights firmly set on shattering more domestic records this time around, the Lions are enjoying another dominant spell. Last seen storming their way to an empathic 4-0 romp at home against Estrela, Rui Borges’ men certainly find the mod in their camp at a red-hot high. Marking their return from November’s international break by extending on their Taca de Portugal adventure thanks to a 3-0 win against Marinhense, the former Vitoria boss has seen his squad win all of their previous four consecutive Serie A appearances by an aggregate score of 12-1. Making a Champions League statement last month as they claimed another 3-0 victory against Club Brugge, Sporting Lisbon have also gained a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third. In fact, already notching 31 Primeira Liga strikes and they comfortably hold the best-attacking return among Portugal’s elite.
