Eddie Hearn has sensationally revealed that a potential fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua can happen ‘immediately’.

For years, speculation surrounding a potential bout between the two Britons has rumbled on – only for nothing to ever materialise.

There are hopes that a showdown can finally take place this year, however.

Fury and Joshua both lost their last fights, to Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois respectively.

But their remains a huge desire to make a battle happen, in what would arguably be the biggest boxing match in British history.

Hearn, speaking to The Stomping Ground, has now provided an update by saying that a clash could happen ‘immediately’.

“It’s the fight that everyone wants. Tell me a bigger fight? There isn’t one,” he said.

“I don’t know if it’s going to happen.

The boxing promoter added: “I don’t think it’s the time to start prodding Tyson Fury.

“Don’t forget, he lost on December 21, so give him a few weeks to chill out.

“Sooner or later, in the coming weeks, we will want to put a plan together for Anthony Joshua.

“That is when the conversations will come with Frank Warren, Spencer Brown [Fury’s manager] and His Excellency [Turki Alalshikh] and say, ‘we want to make AJ-Fury – what do you think? We’ll go from there.”

Yet his promoter, Frank Warren, recently said he wouldn’t be putting any pressure on the 36-year-old.

He told the Daily Star: “I will not be picking up the phone and asking Tyson Fury to fight again.
