Formula 1 commentator Martin Brundle has launched a scathing attack on Elon Musk, branding the X owner a “globally interfering d***” on the social media platform.
The veteran broadcaster expressed his conflicted feelings about continuing to use X, formerly known as Twitter.
“I like Twitter/X and it has served F1, Sky, me and people around me, very well for a good while,” Brundle posted on the platform.
However, he added that Musk’s daily interference made him “feel the need to go somewhere else.”

The comments sparked widespread support from his followers, with many sharing similar sentiments about the platform.
Musk has recently drawn criticism for his involvement in British politics.
The billionaire tech mogul accused the Prime Minister of being “complicit” in child sexual exploitation.
He also turned his attention to the Reform party, claiming Nigel Farage “doesn’t have what it takes” to lead the political movement.
These interventions have led to growing frustration among X users, with thousands already having abandoned the platform for alternatives such as BlueSky.
Despite his initial criticism, Brundle later confirmed he would remain on the platform.
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed and appreciated the diversity to my last post, including the negativity,” he wrote.
The F1 commentator added: “That’s what keeps you alive and motivated, and in touch. I’ll stick with Twitter/X and keep my mind open.”
He concluded his post with a philosophical note: “Opinions are like noses, everybody’s got one and they all count.”
The decision came after numerous followers urged the former F1 racer not to abandon the platform.
Questions arose about Brundle’s blue checkmark status on X, with some noting his verified account symbol.
The commentator quickly clarified: “I don’t pay for a blue tick. Didn’t even know I still had one.”

The verification mark was reportedly given to accounts with large followings and “influential members of the community” last April, regardless of subscription status.
The exchange comes shortly after Brundle received recognition in the New Year’s Honours list.
He was made an OBE for his services to motorsport and sports broadcasting, expressing gratitude for the “lovely messages” which meant “as much to me as the OBE.”
