English golfer Marco Penge has been suspended from the DP World Tour for three months after placing bets on multiple golf events.
The 26-year-old was also fined £2,000 for breaching the tour’s integrity programme, with one month of the ban suspended for a period of 12 months.
The suspension took effect on 13 December, meaning Penge can return to DP World Tour participation from 13 February 2025.
A disciplinary panel found that Penge had not wagered on himself or during tournament days when he was competing.

The panel determined that “the integrity of such events had not been compromised,” according to a DP World Tour statement.
Penge was found to have breached regulation 3(a)(i), which prohibits any covered person from directly or indirectly betting on any aspect of professional or elite amateur golf events worldwide.
Despite these struggles, he managed to secure his playing privileges for 2025 through his performance at the Genesis Championship.
The disciplinary panel noted that Penge’s penalties were mitigated due to his immediate admission of the breaches.
The tour statement said: “Penge’s immediate admission of breach and co-operation throughout the investigation warranted mitigation reflected in the eventual sanction imposed.”

The Englishman has not yet made any public comment regarding his suspension.
Penge’s tour card retention came down to a dramatic finish at the Genesis Championship in South Korea.
He sank a crucial five-foot putt to make the cut, later describing it as his most nerve-wracking moment in golf.

“I was s***ing myself, to be fair,” Penge admitted at the time.
His eventual 22nd-place finish at the tournament helped him secure 110th position in the Race to Dubai standings, keeping his card with just four places to spare.
