Enzo Maresca Wants to Join Man Utd as Jason Wilcox and Omar Berrada Hold Talks
Enzo Maresca is keen to take the Manchester United job and take the job straight away, according to reports from Teamtalk. The Red Devils are looking for a new head coach following the decision to sack Ruben Amorim after a turbulent 14-month stay at Old Trafford.
The present focus is on finding an interim replacement, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Michael Carrick being eyed as options who could take the job until the end of the season.
However, Maresca could be the perfect man in the short and long term, with Man United determined to get this next managerial appointment right.
Enzo Maresca Interested In Man Utd Job
Marescsa is one of a number of head coaches being linked with the Manchester United job. As per reports from Teamtalk, the Italian boss is ‘keen’ on the job at Old Trafford and would be open to taking the job immediately.
The 45-year-old was sacked by Chelsea after guiding the side to Club World Cup glory last season. He has since been replaced by Liam Rosenior who signed a five-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge.
Man United CEO Omar Berrada already has a strong connection with Maresca after working together at Manchester City when the Italian boss was assistant to Pep Guardiola.
Maresca, described by Guardiola as ‘one of the best managers in the world’, is seen by many as an ideal candidate to take the job at Old Trafford and an immediate return to football.
INEOS Must Get Appointment Right
After Ruben Amorim’s disastrous 14 months with Manchester United, it is so important that the club get the next head coach decision correct. The club is at a real cross-junction after offloading a number of high-earning stars and bringing in some very talented young players. However, that will mean nothing if they don’t have a head coach who can get the best out of them.
Man United need a boss who understands the demands and pressure of the club, while also being able to take the responsibility in their stride. They also need to be tactically astute and good and playing entertaining football.
It’s a big ask, but Enzo Maresca is potentially the best-equipped boss to take on the job. If Man United can snap him up sooner rather than later then it could be the best thing all round.
‘World-Class’ Manager Ready to Quit Job for Man Utd, He’s a Top Contender
‘One of the best coaches’ is ready to quit his current role to replace Ruben Amorim as Man Utd manager, and he’s a top contender being eyed by INEOS.
