Everton send officials to negotiate last-ditch swap deal to sign En-Nesyri
Everton have now reportedly sent officials to negotiate a last-minute hijack attempt to sign an impressive attacking star in an unexpected swap deal.
Moyes confirms Garner contract is “moving on”
After such an impressive summer transfer window, not may expected James Garner to become Everton’s player of the season. But he’s on course to become exactly that. The midfield star has even been backed for an England call-up by some, including manager David Moyes, and now looks likely to sign a new deal in Merseyside.
Asked about Garner’s contract talks, Moyes confirmed that negotiations are now “moving on” as the Toffees look to secure the future of one of their most important players.
The Scot also joked about the midfielder’s England place, telling reporters: “I told Thomas [Tuchel] that James was Scottish really and I would be surprised if he could play for England! His name sounds Scottish, so that was it.
“No, we just had a chat about a few things. He’s been at a couple of games that we’ve won narrowly, so he’s a wee bit of our club mascot at the moment!”
Everton now eyeing move to sign “outstanding” England star with same agent as Garner
The Toffees could land a bargain deal.
What Garner’s form has allowed Everton to do is focus their resources elsewhere in their squad. Away from midfield, the Toffees still need an attacking reinforcement this month.
Names like Callum Wilson have briefly caught the eye, but the one player who has remained on Everton’s radar for a number of weeks is Youssef En-Nesyri.
Everton send officials to negotiate En-Nesyri hijack
As reported by Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, and relayed by Sport Witness, Everton are now negotiating a swap deal to sign En-Nesyri, sending officials to Turkey to attempt a last-ditch hijack on Juventus.
The Toffees have reportedly offered Beto as part of the proposed swap deal, handed Fenerbahce plenty to think about. Of course, it would have to be some hijack at this stage, given that a deal has already been agreed with Juventus, but that hasn’t stood in the way of Everton’s late attempt.
The 28-year-old was recently part of the Morocco side, who had their hearts shattered in controversial fashion by Brahim Diaz’s attempted Panenka and Senegal’s victory in the AFCON final.
He could quickly put that night behind him by securing a Premier League move and offering Everton an instant upgrade on Beto in the process.

Luring the forward away from a move to Juventus won’t be an easy task, but what a statement it would send for Friedkin. They already impressed in the summer transfer window, yet could step up once again to welcome additions this month.
