Fabio Paratici Close to Completing Tottenham Exit
Fiorentina are waiting for the final formal steps to be completed between Fabio Paratici and Tottenham Hotspur as the Italian director edges closer to leaving north London, according to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano.
Romano has revealed that discussions are ongoing regarding Paratici’s exit terms, with Fiorentina poised to move once those details are resolved. The Serie A club are confident that Paratici will become their new Head of Football, with the appointment expected to officially begin in 2026.
While no announcement has yet been made, the situation is described as procedural rather than uncertain, with Fiorentina simply awaiting clearance for the final steps to be completed.
Paratici set for Serie A return after Spurs spell
Paratici joined Tottenham in 2021 and played a central role in reshaping the club’s recruitment strategy, bringing a strong Italian influence to Spurs’ transfer operations. However, his time in England has been complicated by off-field issues, which have limited his day-to-day involvement in recent periods.
Despite that, Paratici remains highly regarded in Italy, where his work at Juventus established him as one of Europe’s most influential sporting directors. Fiorentina view his return as a major statement of intent as they look to modernise their football structure and compete more consistently at the top end of Serie A.
Romano’s update suggests that Fiorentina are fully committed to the appointment and are prepared to wait until all contractual matters with Tottenham are formally concluded.
A Shock Tottenham Exit
An exit for Paratici just in time for January transfer window would be a shock, given the Italian only rejoined Tottenham as sporting director on a permanent basis in mid-October following his ban from football.
Interestingly, Paratici returned to Spurs despite the exit of Daniel Levy, who he was known to have a very strong relationship with.
That was an indication of how highly-rated the 53-year-old is in football circles, but after just over two months of working alongside Johan Lange and Vinai Venkatesham he now looks set to seal an exit.
Whether Tottenham plan to replace him remains to be seen, but the news is clearly a blow for a club that may be looking to boost their squad next month.
