Como coach Cesc Fabregas jokes that Nico Paz is ‘not good enough’ to start against Udinese, but the Argentine will be introduced in the second half.
Como star Nico Paz will start on the bench in today’s Serie A match against Udinese.
“He’s not good enough, so he won’t play,” Fabregas told DAZN, smiling, before kick-off.
The Spanish tactician then struck a more serious tone and explained: “He didn’t train for the entire week, he didn’t recover well after the Lecce game, and he’s had various problems, also in his quadriceps.
“He also had diarrhoea in the last two days. He’s okay, he can play today, he can be introduced, but he didn’t train for the whole week. He didn’t even feel well in Rome, so it made no sense to play him today.
“It’s an opportunity for other players to play and for him to be involved in the second half and make a difference.” Nico Paz has scored six goals and provided six assists in 16 Serie A appearances this season.
