Fabrizio Romano Reveals Man Utd Plan for Cristian Orozco Ahead of Move
Manchester United will decide what to do with Cristian Orozco next summer, according to GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano.
The Red Devils will welcome the talented youngster to Old Trafford at the end of the season after striking a deal worth £755,000 to sign the Fortaleza wonderkid.
A defensive midfielder by trade, Orozco has represented Colombia up to under-17 level and recently represented his country in the U17 World Cup.
Now it seems that he’s set for a new challenge in his career with a move to Old Trafford close.
Man United to Make Cristian Orozco Decision
Romano confirmed the news that Orozco was set to move to Old Trafford, writing on X: Manchester United next signing Cristian Orozco will be in UK in the next days to complete his move. #MUFC will pay $1m fee to Fortaleza for 17 year old midfielder.”
Described as the ‘leader of a generation’, it’s expected that the midfielder will officially move to Old Trafford next summer once he has turned 18.
Once he arrives in Manchester, Ruben Amorim faces a big decision to decide what the immediate future will have in store for the talented midfielder.
Writing in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter, Romano was asked about the Red Devils’ plans for Orozco.
The Italian journalist said: “He will join in summer 2026, so in that moment Manchester United will assess the boy and consider whether he will start the season with them in the Academy or eventually go on loan.”
Man United Must Play Orozco Long Game
The move to sign Orozco is one that is surely going to excite Manchester United fans, but they must be patient.
Orozco is a player of huge potential and his core skillset and playing style means that he has a good opportunity to be a future Premier League star in the making.
If he’s to do that, however, he will need time to adapt to life in Europe and England specifically. Next summer he’ll have the chance to make his mark on Amorim’s first team squad and if he impresses, he could be fast-tracked into his plans for the start of the season.
If that doesn’t happen, a season in the development side or out on loan in a European league could do him the world of good as he continues his development.
Given that he will be just 18 next summer means that time is firmly on his side and that’s why the Red Devils will have to manage him carefully in order to help him adapt to life in the fast lane.
