Fikayo Tomori Names his 3 Best Team-mates at Chelsea
The Chelsea academy has been developing young stars since the turn of the century at an alarming rate, and one of the best success stories has been central defender Fikayo Tomori.
Coming through at Cobham, Tomori made 27 appearances for the first-team at Stamford Bridge, while also enjoying loan spells at Derby County, Hull and Brighton in the Championship, before making a move to Serie A with AC Milan, where he has spent five years now.
During his time in West London, the centre-back played alongside some incredible talent, and now he has revealed who the three best really were.
Tomori Names Best Three Chelsea Teammates
While appearing on the Filthy Fellas podcast, the England international was asked about the top three players at Chelsea that he played with.
Tomori revealed that while he played alongside Eden Hazard briefly in that time period, he wouldn’t select him as they didn’t play together enough, but his other selections were equally surprising for the most part.
“[N’Golo] Kante. He could do everything. Running, shooting, tackling, passing, everything. He’s nasty you know. He seems like a nice guy but he will kick you [on the pitch].
“[Mateo] Kovacic. Kovacic is, he was just made. Dribbling, passing, he was mad. “I don’t want to say Hazard because I didn’t really play with him like that, I just trained with him a couple of time.
“The third one, I’ll probably say Willian. It’s between Willian and Pedro, but I think, probably Willian.”
No Space for Thiago Silva
Tomori was a young player during his time at Chelsea, and as a central defender, it’s quite the surprise that he didn’t choose to name legendary Brazil star Thiago Silva as one of his best teammates.
They likely spent a lot of time together, considering they play in the same position, and Tomori will have learnt plenty from the former PSG and AC Milan star too.
Alongside Hazard and Silva, Tomori also left out the likes of Antonio Rudiger, Mason Mount, Reece James and Jorginho, who were all also at Stamford Bridge at the same time as him, showing why he was able to develop into a fantastic player himself.
But it’s clear that some players left a greater impression than others on him, and Chelsea fans will surely be surprised to hear the names mentioned above all others in this instance.
