Former Floyd Mayweather opponent says ‘he’s ready’ for rematch: “Nothing old about me”

Floyd Mayweather Jr has been linked to a professional return against old-foe Manny Pacquiao, however, there is now another former Mayweather opponent who has has called him out for a rematch.

Mayweather hung up the gloves after halting Conor McGregor in ‘The Money Fight’ back in 2017, retiring with a legendary undefeated record and a place amongst the all-time greats of the sport.

Since then, Mayweather has fought regularly in exhibition bouts and kept himself in shape, and the recent comeback of Pacquiao has led to suggestions that the pound-for-pound stars could run it back in a rematch of their famous 2015 encounter.

Should Mayweather need some high-profile preparation for a meeting with Pacquiao, he need look no further than Zab Judah, who told MillCity Boxing of his desire to fight Mayweather two decades on from their heated 2006 meeting.

“Listen, if we did an exhibition match right now, it would probably be the biggest exhibition match in boxing right now. Zab Judah-Mayweather part two, that would go stupid.”

“Ain’t s**t old about me. You can blabber about ‘I don’t know what he is doing, is he in shape?’, I am ready.”

Pacquiao had been the frontrunner for a shot at Rolando Romero’s WBA welterweight world title, to potentially add a world title to his rematch with Mayweather, but it now seems as though Uzbekistan’s mandatory challenger Shakhram Giyasov will instead challenge for the belt.

Meanwhile, Mayweather announced an exhibition bout against Mike Tyson last year, but further details regarding that event have not been released, with fans left assuming that those plans may have been put on hold.
