Harrison Reed Scores Late Screamer in Fulham 2-2 Liverpool

Fulham midfielder Harison Reed plucked what can be considered the Premier League goal of the season so far in the dying embers of the Londoners’ 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Arne Slot’s Liverpool travelled down to the capital city in pursuit of three points but were left needing a lease of life when Fulham‘s Harry Wilson opened the scoring. Florian Wirtz impressed as he scored the equaliser before Gody Gakpo seemingly scored the winner.

Gakpo whipped off his shirt and swung it round his head at the expense of a yellow card – but Reed, scoring his first goal since April 2023, had other ideas.

The 30-year-old, who had replaced Sasa Lukic at the heart of Marco Silva’s midfielder in the 90th minute, picked up the ball in the 97th minute. Those inside Craven Cottage believed it was too far out for him to even think of letting off a shot but he did just that, producing a howitzer for the ages.

Taking the one touch after being passed the ball, Reed tee’d himself up perfectly and was under no pressure as he geared up to take his shot. As seen in the footage below, his right-footed strike from outside the box swerved in and out before leaving the seasoned Alisson Becker unable to get close.
