Serie A is almost at the halfway point, even if there are a few games in hand, but Inter, Napoli and Milan are starting to create a gap in the Scudetto race.

The Week 18 fixtures were completed this evening with Inter sweeping Bologna aside 3-1 at San Siro to consolidate first place.

That was their fifth consecutive Serie A victory and put them on 39 points from 17 games played, one ahead of Milan and two clear of Napoli.

Despite the fact all three of those teams have a game in hand, they are still breaking away from the chasing pack, as Juventus and Roma are in joint fourth place, already four points behind.

Como also still have an extra match to play and are on 30 points, so Cesc Fabregas could well be up there too.

Those games in hand were postponed for the Supercoppa Italiana in December, so Napoli vs. Parma and Inter vs. Lecce will be on January 14, then Verona vs. Bologna and Como vs. Milan on January 15.

Things are also getting tight at the foot of the table, as Verona, Pisa and Fiorentina are all stuck together on 12 points, only three behind Daniele De Rossi’s Genoa.

However, of those four, Verona still have a game in hand to be played against Bologna.
