Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal remain interested in Inter defender Francesco Acerbi as the Italian centre-back is expected to leave the Stadio Meazza at the end of his contract in June.

Veteran Inter defender Acerbi will likely leave the Nerazzurri at the end of the season, and there’s a chance the 37-year-old reunites with his former boss Inzaghi in Saudi Arabia.

As reported by Fabrizio Romano and Matteo Moretto, in fact, it’s hard to expect Acerbi’s contract extension with Inter in the coming months, as both parties are already assessing their options for the future.

According to the report, Simone Inzaghi’s Al-Hilal already made an attempt to sign Acerbi last summer, and the Saudi Pro League club are still keen on the veteran centre-back as they eye a possible transfer in June.

Acerbi and Inzaghi to reunite at Al-Hilal?

The Italian transfer experts claim that Acerbi and Inzaghi are still on good terms, which might facilitate negotiations over the summer.

Acerbi has already collected 978 minutes of football this season, making 11 appearances across all competitions.
