Jake Paul reveals how much Anthony Joshua will outweigh him on fight night
The controversial showdown between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua is just over a week away.
Paul and Joshua will meet in an eight-round heavyweight battle at the Kaseya Center in Miami on Friday 19 December, with the event broadcast live on Netflix.
It came as a shock to the boxing world when the fight was announced around a month ago, with Paul having originally been set to go up against WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis in an exhibition bout in November.
He has now turned his attention from taking on a 5ft 5in 135lb fighter to a 6ft 6in former world heavyweight champion in Joshua who has weighed as heavy as 255lbs in his past fights.
AJ must come in under 245lbs at the weigh-in, but there are still major concerns for Paul, who has primarily competed at cruiserweight in his career, aside from his highly-criticised clash against Mike Tyson in November 2024, where ‘The Problem Child’ weighed 227lbs.
Paul has now revealed in an online clip what he expects the weight difference to be with Joshua on fight night, stating that he expects at least a 30lb difference.
“I’m like 215 [currently]. [I’ll be] 218, 220 [on the night]. He’ll be like 250 in the ring. It’s definitely a pretty wild fight.”
Paul was last in action in June when he defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr, while Joshua hasn’t fought since a September 2024 defeat to Daniel Dubois, but despite the long inactivity, he is still a huge favourite in next week’s encounter with ‘The Problem Child.’
