John Cena's Confirmed Remaining Dates on WWE Retirement Tour

John Cena has just ONE appearance left of his WWE farewell tour, having promised 36 throughout 2025.

Cena is scheduled to retire from in-ring competition in just a few weeks’ time, bringing his long and illustrious career to a close. Earlier this year, he confirmed that he would make 36 appearances during his farewell tour – and then he would never wrestle again. Cena is looking to make the permanent switch to acting post-WWE, having recently starred in Fast and Furious, Heads of State, and as Peacemaker.

Here we are taking a look at what Cena has already done in 2025, and what’s left for him to do on his schedule.

  • January 4, 2025: WWE Raw Netflix Debut

Cena came to the ring to kick off his farewell tour, and warned fans that they should stop hoping for him to win a 17th World Championship. He declared his entry for the 2025 Royal Rumble.

  • February 1: WWE Royal Rumble

Cena entered the 2025 Royal Rumble at #23, and made his way to the final two after eliminating Logan Paul. Cena and Jey Uso battled on the apron, before the latter wriggled out of an Attitude Adjustment to eliminate the former and win the Rumble. Cena announced post-show that him entering the Elimination Chamber would be “best for business.”

Cena entered the Elimination Chamber as the fifth entrant of the match, and had a heartfelt hug with CM Punk. He then won the Chamber after applying the STF on Punk, after Seth Rollins had hit him with The Stomp. After the match, Rhodes appeared, had a stare-down with his challenger, and then rejected The Rock‘s offer to become his champion. Cena celebrated with Rhodes, and then attacked him following a signal by The Rock – turning heel in the process for the very first time.

Cena faced Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 41. After a distraction from Travis Scott, he performed a low blow on his opponent and hit him with the Championship to win his record 17th WWE World Championship

Cena defended the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at Backlash. During the match, the pair traded vintage moves before the former inadvertently struck the referee. The Viper had the match won without a referee, and lined up a Punt Kick on his opponent – before R-Truth blocked him. Cena then retained via a low blow and a shot with the title.

  • May 24: WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Cena faced R-Truth, as Ron Cena, in a non-title match at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cena briefly refused to hit R-Truth with his title, sparking a moment of hope, but quickly issued a low blow and an AA to win the match. Cena then attempted to help Logan Paul win the World Heavyweight Championship from Jey Uso, but Rhodes returned to fend him off.

  • June 7: WWE Money in the Bank

Cena teamed with Logan Paul to face Jey Uso and Rhodes at the Money in the Bank event. The match concluded with R-Truth attacking Cena as the referee was distracted, and Rhodes capitalised to deliver a Cross Rhodes and win the match.

Cena reunited with longtime rival CM Punk to face him at Night of Champions for the Undisputed WWE Championship. The pair traded signature moves throughout, and Cena even refused to hit his opponent with his title. However, Seth Rollins and The Vision attempted to cost Punk the match and cash in Rollins’ Money in the Bank contract; Penta and Sami Zayn fought them off. Cena then capitalised on Rollins stomping Punk to retain.

  • August 3: WWE SummerSlam

Having turned face on the 1st of August’s SmackDown episode, Cena faced Rhodes in a rematch for the Undisputed WWE Championship at SummerSlam. The pair put on a clinic as they performed every move in their arsenal to try and win the match. After a long battle, Rhodes pinned Cena following a Cross Rhodes to win the title. After the match, Brock Lesnar returned to F5 Cena.

  • August 22: WWE SmackDown

The 17-time world champion’s most recent appearances have seen him build up his match with Logan Paul at the Clash in Paris PLE on the 31st of August. In a promo full of passion on the 22nd of August edition of SmackDown, an emotional Cena revealed there were five opponents who he felt were more deserving than the social media star, who he was not going to be able to face on his farewell tour.

  • August 31: Clash in Paris

After a few weeks of promo battles, Cena and Logan Paul finally shared the ring together at the end of August in Paris, and it was the former that had his hand raised in victory, much to the jubilation of the French crowd, who were loud for the 17-time champion throughout.

  • September 5: WWE SmackDown (Chicago, IL)

Cena’s final-ever appearance on the blue brand of SmackDown saw him take on Sami Zayn for the United States Championship. However, the match was interrupted by none other than Brock Lesnar, which set their match up for Wrestlepalooza nicely.

  • September 15: WWE Raw (Lowell, Massachusetts)
  • September 20: WWE Wrestlepalooza (Indianapolis, Indiana)

Much to the disgust of many, Cena was essentially squashed by Lesnar in a quickfire match that kicked off Wrestlepalooza and WWE’s venture with ESPN. Although the 17-time champ managed to hit three finishers on his opponent, the majority of the match was dominated by The Beast Incarnate.

  • October 11: WWE Crown Jewel 2025 (Perth, Western Australia)

Cena picked up the 100th win of his WWE career at PPVs/PLEs with a victory over long-time rival AJ Styles in his final international match. The absorbing contest saw Cena pay tribute to the likes of Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, The Undertaker and Bray Wyatt before pinning ‘The Phenomenal One’.

  • November 10: WWE Raw (Boston, Massachusetts)

In his final appearance in Boston, John Cena FINALLY became a Grand Slam champion in WWE, defeating Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship, the only belt that was alluding him in his illustrious career.

  • November 29: WWE Survivor Series (San Diego, CA)

At his final PPV/PLE, John Cena was defeated by Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship, handing back the title he won earlier in the very same month.
