Leeds exploring move to sign Strand Larsen’s dream winger
Leeds United are undoubtedly feeling quietly confident about maintaining their Premier League status, with the side securing another vital point on Monday night.
Daniel Farke’s side drew 1-1 on Merseyside against Everton last night, subsequently extending their run in England’s top-flight to just one defeat in their last 11 outings.
The Whites are now eight points clear of the relegation zone with 15 games to play, with the club perfectly placed to secure another year in the top division.
However, if the club are to reach the next level and increase their chances of survival, new additions may be needed, with various areas of the pitch potentially being bolstered.
Facundo Buonanotte has already been signed in recent weeks, but that won’t stop Farke’s side from making further additions before the window slams shut next week.
Leeds targeting a move for a Premier League sensation
Over the last couple of days, Leeds have been named as just one of the sides interested in a move to land Wolverhampton Wanderers talisman Jorgen Strand Larsen.
The Whites have even submitted a bid for his signature over the last couple of days, with one journalist stating that Farke’s men are the only side who have made an offer to date.
Any deal would likely cost a fee in the region of £40m this window, with it unclear if the hierarchy would match such an asking price for the 25-year-old this month.
However, Strand Larsen isn’t the only player currently in their sights, with Fulham star Harry Wilson another player who has been named on their shortlist.
According to CaughtOffside, the Whites are one of multiple sides in England’s top-flight trying to land the Welsh international who has already netted eight goals this season.
The report also states that the likes of Nottingham Forest, Everton and Aston Villa are also in the race to land the Welsh international before the window slams shut.
However, any move could be a bargain one for any of the interested parties, with the 28-year-old’s deal set to expire at the end of the season, with contract negotiations currently on hold.
Why Wilson would be perfect for Strand Larsen at Leeds
As previously mentioned, a move for Strand Larsen could well be on the cards for Leeds this month, with the Norwegian able to provide needed support for Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Whilst he’s only netted one league goal this campaign, the 25-year-old has previously demonstrated his quality in such a division, as seen by his tally of 14 in 2024/25.
However, the rumoured £40m fee would be a huge statement of intent from the hierarchy, with such a move potentially breaking the club’s record signing in the process.
Like Calvert-Lewin, he’s an aerially dominant option, as seen by his tally of four headed goals last season, which means he’s reliant on good delivery from other players around him.
Anton Stach and Brenden Aaronson are both currently tied at the top of the assists charts with three each, but that could change with any move for Wilson this month.
The Welshman has caught the eye with his tally of eight league goals to date, but he’s also been a superb creative outlet – as seen by his tally of four assists.
His talents within the final third this season have made him one of the division’s hottest properties this window, with many of his stats perfectly benefiting Strand Larsen at Elland Road.
Wilson, who’s been dubbed “incredible” by Bence Bocsak, has created 1.3 chances per 90, whilst completing 82% of the passes he’s attempted to date.
The aforementioned figures highlight his ability to find those ahead of him, with the Welshman subsequently being able to provide the goods for the Norwegian on a consistent basis.

He’s also completed 26% of the crosses he’s attempted this season, with such a figure putting him in the top 20% of all wingers in the division this season.
Should he replicate such a figure in Yorkshire, it would allow the potential club-record signing to get back to the levels he achieved last season and add the needed goal threat the Whites are hunting for.
Wilson’s talents in attacking areas are further reflected in his tally of 55% dribbles completed, whilst being dispossessed just 0.3 times per 90 – a tally better than 86% of other Premier League forwards.
His all-round nature with the ball at his feet could be vital for Leeds, with such a move no doubt handing Farke an incredible Premier League-proven option in their hunt for survival.
It’s unclear how much a deal would cost for the 28-year-old, but his figures are evidence that he has all the tools needed to strike up a deadly partnership with Strand Larsen.
However, given the interest in his signature at present, the hierarchy desperately need to work tirelessly to avoid missing out on his signature to a divisional rival.
Farke must drop Leeds star who won just 1/5 duels vs Everton
Daniel Farke could now drop this Leeds United star, after his away side were frustratingly held to a 1-1 draw at Everton.
