In Italy, AC Milan leapfrogged their city rivals Inter at the summit of Serie A following a narrow 1-0 victory over Cagliari.

Cristian Chivu’s men can reclaim top spot on Sunday with a win against Bologna.
Elsewhere in Europe, LaLiga returned with Rayo Vallecano and Getafe playing out a 1-1 draw.
Jorge de Frutos gave Rayo the lead in first-half stoppage time and the hosts thought they had done enough to claim all three points but Mauro Arambarri’s equaliser in the 91st minute ensured both teams took a share of the spoils.
The result moves Getafe up one place to 10th while Rayo jump to 12th place in the table.
