Liverpool Agree Personal Terms to Sign Antoine Semenyo
Liverpool have agreed personal terms with Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo over a move to Anfield, according to Caught Offside.
The Reds have been keen to add to their forward line in 2026 after a busy summer transfer window in which they brought in Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz for British record transfer fees, while they also sold Luis Diaz, and Darwin Nunez, and Diogo Jota tragically passed away, leaving them light in attack.
Now, after Mohamed Salah drowned his future in doubt following his startling outburst last week, Liverpool are making moves in the transfer window to strengthen with one of the Premier League’s most exciting players.
Liverpool Table Offer to Sign Semenyo
Semenyo, who has been described as “world-class”, has been in excellent form since the start of last season in the Premier League, netting 17 goals and registering eight assists, which has sparked interest from some of the top clubs in the division.
The Ghana international signed a new long-term contract at the Vitality Stadium in the summer which includes a £65m release clause, which becomes active in January, and a number of clubs are now eyeing a potential move.
A report states that Liverpool have now gone one step further with their interest, agreeing personal terms with the 25-year-old forward.
They face competition from Manchester City, who have also reportedly made an offer to the winger, but it’s understood that his preferred destination would be Anfield, and it could be that Semenyo is the man who comes in to replace Salah.
Semenyo to Liverpool Looks Inevitable
Semenyo’s release clause is understood to expire on January 10th and then wouldn’t reactivate until the summer, and that works in Liverpool’s favour as they will be keen to get a deal over the line quickly if they’re serious.
Salah’s future is in doubt after his outburst, but he will be heading to AFCON after the Brighton game this weekend and that should take the talk of his future off the table for a short while.
Semenyo wants to join and is seemingly affordable for the Reds, so this could absolutely be one that moves quickly.
Is he the right man to replace Salah? That remains to be seen, but there aren’t many better options. He is Premier League proven, in the prime years of his career and ready to explode if given a platform by a team playing at the highest level.
Despite their struggles, Arne Slot’s side are still the reigning champions and an attractive project to join, and a move for Semenyo would cement that.
