Liverpool now ready to launch Antonee Robinson in instant Robertson replacement
Liverpool are now reportedly preparing a move to sign an instant replacement for Andy Robertson, who has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this month.
Tottenham submit offer to sign Robertson
After losing Trent Alexander-Arnold to Real Madrid last summer, Liverpool may be about to lose the other half of their iconic full-back pairing, ending an incredible era at Anfield.
This comes as a result of Tottenham’s offer to sign Robertson. The experienced Scotland international has fallen down the pecking order behind summer signing Milos Kerkez in recent months and is now on the hunt for much-needed starts in North London.
Liverpool, keen to respect a club legend, will not stand in Robertson’s way if all parties come to an agreement. They are already reportedly working on recalling Kostas Tsimikas on loan from AS Roma in preparation for their defender’s potential exit.
In such a tough season, many will be questioning Liverpool’s decision to sell Robertson six months before his contract comes to an end. Yes, they’ll be cashing in, but is that money worth losing a key dressing room leader at a time when Champions League qualification is far from guaranteed?
What’s more, Anfield is yet to be convinced by Kerkez, despite recent form suggesting that he’s finally beginning to settle into life in Merseyside.

The Reds are looking to bring in a new centre-back.
With Conor Bradley out for the season on the other side, leaving Jeremie Frimpong as the only natural option, and Tsimikas a downgrade on Robertson, it’s clear that the Reds could do with a defensive addition.
To that end, the name Antonee Robinson has once again entered their radar in what could prove to be a crucial final week or so in the January transfer window.
Liverpool ready to launch Antonee Robinson move
As reported by TeamTalk, Liverpool are ready to launch their move to sign Robinson from Fulham this month. The Reds were interested in the American international in the summer, but eventually opted to sign Kerkez instead. Now, six months later, they could sign the Fulham man to act as a back-up for the Hungarian.
Robinson, 28 years old, has endured a mixed season so far. His campaign has been disrupted by injury since the very start and it’s only recently that he’s been able to get a run of games under his belt – making now the perfect time for Liverpool to strike.
With so much uncertainty at Fulham surrounding Marco Silva’s contract, Robinson may find it difficult to resist the temptation of Anfield this month.
Silva, if this is to be his final six months in charge, will likely want to keep his left-back, who he has praised so highly over the years. He told reporters last season after Robinson impressed against Liverpool: “Being clear, what a performance from him.
“What a performance. Brilliant, unbelievable performance from him, and I told him at the end of the game that he has to be really proud.”
