Liverpool Open Talks to Sign Bradley Barcola Alongside Diomande in Record Deal
Liverpool are interested in signing Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola and have initiated preliminary talks to explore a potential move, according to reports.
The defending Premier League champions are aiming to further bolster Arne Slot’s squad after a summer of unprecedented spending, with more than £450m spent on new signings.
With record arrival Alexander Isak suffering a long-term injury, Liverpool appear to be on the lookout to add further depth to their attacking options and have identified Barcola as a potential target.
Barcola has no shortage of suitors in England at the minute, with Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City all named as admirers of the winger.
Liverpool Keen on Bradley Barcola
According to Spanish publication Fichajes, Liverpool have opened talks to explore a potential record-breaking transfer for Barcola amid question marks over his long-term prospects at PSG.
The France international’s role has slightly diminished following Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s arrival last January and Barcola has not ruled out exploring his options after the season in search of a more prominent role in the team.
While PSG maintain that they have no intention of selling Barcola, the report suggests that interest from English clubs could prove tempting to the ‘unstoppable’ winger.
Barcola, who joined PSG in the summer of 2023 from Lyon, has made 23 appearances for Luis Enrique’s side this season, scoring five goals and providing four assists.
The 23-year-old was PSG’s second top goal contributor last season, when he registered 21 goals and 18 assists in 58 appearances across all competitions, behind Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembele.
Liverpool Could Target New Forward in January
While a move for Barcola appears highly unlikely this month, Liverpool remain on the lookout for opportunities to potentially welcome a new forward this month.
As GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano previously reported, the Anfield side have not ruled out adding a new attacker following a concerning injury to Isak.
The Swedish striker was ruled out for several months after fracturing his leg in Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Tottenham last month.
Liverpool were also without fellow summer signing Hugo Ekitike in their last two games, with Cody Gakpo and Florian Wirtz deputising at centre-forward.
Yan Diomande Wants to Join Liverpool
Liverpool’s reported interest in RB Leipzig forward Yan Diomande has picked up a huge boost after the 19-year-old revealed his dream is to play for the Anfield side.
Diomande made the admission while talking about his future on a TikTok livestream, during which he also mentioned that he is a lifelong fan of the Reds.
