Liverpool striker Alexander Isak has claimed that he knows how he is performing for his new club and he does not need anyone else to remind him.
The attacker joined the Merseyside club in the summer transfer window in a Premier League record move.
After going on strike at Newcastle United and burning bridges with the fans and the club, he finally got the move he wanted on Deadline day.
However, his time so far at Anfield has been disastrous. The attacker has struggled for form and fitness at the club.
Not only he has struggled individually but even Liverpool have become less threatening with Isak in the squad.
Alexander Isak has failed to perform at Liverpool
Isak has so far scored just one goal in the Premier League and his poor performances have been one of the reasons behind the downfall of the defending league champions.
The Sweden international attacker was benched for the game agains Leeds United and when he was called upon at Elland Road, the Whites scored a dramatic late equaliser to break Liverpool’s hearts.
Speaking to Sky Sports about life at his new club, the attacker claimed that he does not need anyone to remind him how poor he has been this season.
“It’s not been easy, of course, individually and also collectively,” Isak said.
“We’ve not had the best results lately and of course I wish more from me as well. I think that’s pretty obvious. But (I am) trying to stay positive, we as a team as well. It’s a really good group. Just looking forward and trying to do better as a team.
“I expect to do much more, of course. I always do that, even when I do really well, I want more. So that’s not a problem for me. I’m just trying to stay positive, trying to work to do better. That’s what I’m looking to do.
“Obviously I’m the first one to know, and I know best, when I’m doing good and when I’m not doing good. I don’t need anyone to tell me how I’m doing. That’s not a problem for me.”
Reds need Isak to find his form again

The Reds entered the season as the favourites to win the league following the signings of Isak, Hugo Ekitike and Florian Wirtz.
However, Arne Slot has found it difficult to get the best out of his players, particularly the new signings.
Slot’s team is currently ten points behind league leaders Arsenal and they are unlikely to mount a title challenge this year due to their poor performances and surprisingly poor form.
What is mind-boggling is their goal difference at this stage of the season. They currently have a goal difference of zero, having scored 24 goals in the league but also conceded 24 goals.
For the Reds to get back to winning ways, they need Isak to regain his form and start repaying the faith they showed in him when they signed him.
