Liverpool return to Champions League action this evening, but are still being linked with several potential new signings. The January transfer window is open for just under two more weeks, and the Reds are still being tipped to strengthen their squad before the February 2 deadline.

Arne Slot’s side will take on Marseille in the Champions League tonight as Liverpool make the trip to take on the Ligue 1 outfit.

Liverpool have already been handed two transfer blows this month, with Antoine Semenyo and Marc Guehi both opting to sign for Manchester City, having previously been heavily linked with moving to Anfield.

Guehi, in particular, was close to securing a £35million switch to Liverpool from Crystal Palace last summer, only for the move to fall through, which gave City the chance to swoop in and sign the England international.

Andre ‘offer’ claim

Liverpool are once again being linked with a move for Wolves midfielder Andre, who was previously a target during his time at Fluminense.

Brazilian news outlet RTI Esporte have claimed that Liverpool still hold an interest in signing Andre, most likely in the summer, and even go so far as to state that an offer is expected to be made by the Anfield outfit.

Wolves are said to be determined to keep Andre at Molineux despite the reported interest from Liverpool, with it being claimed that any offer lower than £26.2million (€30million) would not be accepted.

Joao Gomes update

Liverpool are reportedly no longer in the running to sign Wolves star Joao Gomes, with Manchester United now leading the race for his signature.

The Reds have previously been credited with an interest in signing Gomes in recent months, but Caught Offside have reported that the reigning Premier League champions have “cooled” their interest in the midfielder.

As a result, United are being mentioned as the club showing the strongest interest in signing Gomes, while Crystal Palace have also been mentioned as a potential suitor for the former Flamengo star.
