The former Wolves midfielder is one of three options for January alongside Conor Gallagher and Joao Gomes.

Neves is facing an uncertain future in Saudi Arabia and is yet to sign a new contract with Al-Hilal after joining in the summer of 2023.

A signing in January could be a real boost for Amorim’s side as they strive to secure Champions League football this time around and Neves would undoubtedly add crucial quality in that department.

The Red Devils are also planning to go big in the summer transfer window with two big-name arrivals mooted. Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson, Carlos Baleba and Bournemouth’s Tyler Adams have all been linked with a move, but with all three currently regarded as key players at their current clubs, a January move seems unlikely.

After a strong summer in which Amorim boosted Man United’s attacking ranks, a bolstered midfield could take the club to the next level. With uncertainty over the futures of Casemiro, Bruno Fernandes and Kobbie Mainoo, the Red Devils could have a completely different look in 2026/27. The focus will be on ensuring that they get the right fit to thrive at Old Trafford.
