Manchester United have confirmed their Premier League fixture against Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford will proceed as scheduled on Saturday, despite concerns over Storm Darragh.
The announcement comes as weather conditions have already forced the postponement of one Premier League match in the region.
The Red Devils are set to host Forest in the 5:30pm GMT kick-off, with club officials maintaining close contact with relevant authorities regarding any potential weather-related developments.
Earlier on Saturday, the Merseyside derby between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park was called off due to safety concerns amid adverse weather conditions brought by Storm Darragh.

The postponement of the lunchtime fixture has raised questions about other matches in the region, with only 35 miles separating Liverpool and Manchester.
Despite the close proximity between the two cities in the north-west of England, United have taken a different stance regarding their fixture at Old Trafford.
In an official statement released on Saturday morning, United said: “Today’s Premier League fixture at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest is scheduled to go ahead as planned.”
The club emphasised their commitment to ongoing monitoring of the situation, adding: “The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will update supporters immediately if anything changes.”
United have pledged to keep fans informed of any developments that could affect the evening kick-off.

The match remains set for its scheduled 5:30pm GMT start time, subject to any changes in weather conditions.
Premier League fixtures aren’t the only ones affected by Storm Darragh with two Championship games being postponed as well as numerous League One and League Two matches.
All football and rugby matches in Wales have also been called off with the worst of the weather set to hit the west of the UK.
The FAW statement read: “Following advice from The Met Office, the Football Association of Wales can confirm that all football matches in Wales scheduled for Saturday 7 December have been postponed.
“The Met Office has issued Red, Amber, and Yellow Weather Warnings for the vast majority of Wales due to Storm Darragh, which is expected to bring damaging winds and heavy rain, causing significant disruption and danger to life.
“It is not safe to drive in such weather, including travelling to and from football matches.
