Manchester United are eyeing a ‘shock’ deal to re-sign James Garner from Everton in January, according to the Daily Mail.
The Red Devils splashed the cash in the summer to reinforce their attack with Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko, while they also brought in a new goalkeeper in Senne Lammens.
Now the idea is to strengthen their midfield options in 2026 but while they have identified some big-money targets ahead of next summer, it has now been revealed that they are also eyeing a cut-price option as soon as January to help Ruben Amorim’s squad this season, in the shape of a familiar face.

The central midfielder, who can also play at full-back, has emerged as someone who is climbing up the club’s transfer shortlist as they ponder making a move to bring someone in next month rather than waiting until the summer.
