Max Dowman's Crazy Goal During vs Bayern U19s Goes Viral

As Arsenal’s first team prepare for their huge UEFA Champions League clash with Bayern Munich on Wednesday night, young star Max Dowman was proving that he is still too good for the UEFA Youth League.

The young Gunners took on a young Bayern Munich side and claimed a big 4-2 win over 90 minutes, with 15-year-old superstar Dowman shining and scoring twice in the game to hand the north London outfit all three points.

However, it was his second strike that caught the attention all the fans and media outlets, with footage of the strike going viral on social media almost immediately after it crossed the line.

Dowman started with the youth team rather than being in the squad with the senior side, despite having made his first-team Champions League debut earlier this season in the 3-0 win over Slavia Prague.

And he proved why many fans believe he should be playing against the Bundesliga champions rather than for Arsenal Under-19’s with a stunning second goal, which sealed the victory for his side in second-half stoppage time.

Dowman collected the ball on the right wing and skipped past two Bayern Munich defenders with ease, before pulling off a roulette to beat a third defender and then delicately dinking the ball over the onrushing goalkeeper.

While Dowman’s goal and performance were the story of the game, another notable bit of history was made as 13-year-old wonderkid Luis Munoz made his debut, becoming the competition’s youngest-ever player in the process.

The midfielder came off the bench during the game in the second half, and broke the previous record held by Liam Payas, who was 14 years and 93 days old when he made his debut in the tournament for the Lincoln Red Imps in September 2024.

He has played up age groups before and, in September, was part of the England Under-15 squad. Munoz was also part of Arsenal’s Under-16 squad earlier this month that were crowned Premier League National Champions.

Once again, the Gunners are proving that age is no limit to your pathway forward and if the player is good enough, they will be provided with opportunities to make it at the Emirates Stadium and potentially play for Mikel Arteta’s side.
