Feyenoord vs Celtic: Scots make history in Europe

Celtic ended a long wait for an away win in Europe, beating Feyenoord 3-1 in Rotterdam to claim their first result of this kind in four years.

The hosts struck first through Ayase Ueda after 11 minutes, finishing from close range after Sem Steijn squared a pass across the box.

Celtic responded well and levelled on 30 minutes, with Reo Hatate lifting an inviting cross to the back post for Yang to guide in.

The turnaround was complete just before the break. Daizen Maeda pressed goalkeeper Timon Wellenreuther into a mistake and pounced on a loose touch, sliding the ball across for Hatate to finish into an open net.

Feyenoord improved after the restart and pushed for a response, with their best moment coming when Jordan Lotomba met a back-post cross and saw his header cleared off the line by Callum McGregor.

The visitors sealed the points with eight minutes to play. Maeda held off Wellenreuther near the byline and cut the ball back for Benjamin Nygren, whose strike crashed off the underside of the bar and bounced over the line for 3-1.

Rangers vs Braga: Boos ring out at Ibrox

Rangers were held to a 1-1 draw at Ibrox by Braga, despite enjoying a numerical advantage for much of the second half.

The Scottish side took the lead just before half-time, with captain James Tavernier converting a penalty after Fran Navarro handled in the box.

Rangers had struggled earlier, with goalkeeper Jack Butland making two fine saves to keep the score level.

Braga were reduced to ten men on the hour mark when Rodrigo Zalazar was sent off for a headbutt on Raskin, leaving Rangers in a promising position to secure their first Europa League win of the season.

However, a defensive lapse allowed Braga back into the game, with Gabri Martinez capitalising on Djiga’s error to equalise in the 69th minute.

Maccabi Tel Aviv vs Lyon: Hosts hit for six

Lyon delivered a dominant performance away to Maccabi Tel Aviv, securing a 6-0 win in a very one-sided encounter.

The French side took an early lead in the fourth minute through Abner Vinícius, before Corentin Tolisso added a second in the 25th minute with a header from Abner’s cross.

Tolisso struck again from close range five minutes later, and Moussa Niakhate converted a penalty in the 35th minute to make it 4-0 by half-time.

The second half saw Lyon continue their relentless attacking, with Tolisso completing his hat-trick in the 53rd minute, and Adam Karabec rounding off the scoring in the 62nd minute.

Porto vs Nice: Portuguese side cruise to win

Porto eased to a 3-0 win over Nice, finishing the night in complete control at Estadio do Dragao. The Portuguese side struck inside the opening minute, with Gabri Veiga guiding in the opener from close range after being picked out by Pepe.

Porto maintained their early dominance and doubled the advantage just after the half-hour mark, Veiga again at the centre of it as he met a Victor Froholdt cut-back to fire high into the net.

Nice struggled to create anything clear in response, their best efforts coming through Sofiane Diop and Terem Moffi, both of whom missed the target.

The visitors’ hopes faded further early in the second half when Samu Aghehowa won a penalty, then calmly converted to make it 3-0 just past the hour.
