Napoli claimed a 3-1 win over Atalanta at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona, but the victory was overshadowed by an injury to star striker Rasmus Højlund.
The Danish forward left the field in the 74th minute with a right hamstring issue, replaced by Lorenzo Lucca.
Initial signs suggest Højlund managed to stop before worsening the problem, though the club will assess the extent of the injury.
On the pitch, Napoli dominated possession and created the clearer chances, with Højlund contributing significantly before his exit.
Atalanta’s goal came from a brief lapse in concentration, but the visitors struggled to maintain sustained pressure. The result keeps Napoli’s momentum alive in Serie A, but Højlund’s fitness will be key in the coming weeks.
Lucca’s introduction offered energy and physical presence, highlighting Napoli’s depth as they navigate a busy winter schedule.
This continues a string of striker injury problems for Antonio Conte’s side this season. Højlund was signed after an injury suffered by Romelu Lukaku in pre-season, with the Belgian expected back at some point before the end of the year.
