Nottingham Forest racing to sign Harry Wilson as Fulham negotiations pause
Nottingham Forest have now joined the race to sign a Premier League forward, who has been in fantastic form this season.
Forest keen on signing another forward after Lucca
Forest have already strengthened their forward line this month, bringing in Lorenzo Lucca to replace Arnaud Kalimuendo, but the Italian wasn’t needed on Sunday, with Sean Dyche’s side triumphing 2-0 against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.
Following West Ham United’s victory against Sunderland on Saturday, it was important Dyche’s men picked up a victory, and they have now moved five points clear of Nuno’s side, with Igor Jesus proving his worth by scoring the opening goal.
Taiwo Awoniyi also got in on the act, with the Nigerian bagging his first Premier League goal of the season, which means it could be difficult for Lucca to force his way into the starting XI immediately.
As such, bringing in another centre-forward this month would perhaps be overkill, but the Tricky Trees are keen to strengthen their options in wide areas, having joined the race for an in-form Premier League player.
That is according to a report from Caught Offside, which states Nottingham Forest have now joined the race to sign Fulham star Harry Wilson, alongside Brentford, Aston Villa, Leeds United and Crystal Palace.
Indeed, a whole host of Premier League clubs could be set to battle it out for Wilson’s signature, with his future at Craven Cottage now uncertain, given that contract negotiations have been paused.
One of the interested parties making a formal bid this month is a possibility, but a deal is more likely to transpire at the end of the season, with the Cottagers currently still keen to tie him down to a new contract.
Wilson leading Fulham’s charge for Europe
Perhaps unexpectedly, Fulham have now emerged as contenders for Europe, currently sitting in seventh place, courtesy of a last-gasp 2-1 victory against Brighton last time out.
Nottingham Forest make bid for “brilliant” £17m defender, response received
The Tricky Trees have stepped up their pursuit.
The Welshman’s stoppage-time winner was the difference between the two sides, finding the back of the net for the eighth time in the Premier League this season, and he has also provided four assists.
The Fulham star has continued his fantastic form, after being praised for the level of his recent performances by Sky Sports’ Dougie Critchley last month.
The right-winger’s importance to Marco Silva is underlined by the fact he has averaged a FotMob rating of 7.28, the highest of any Fulham player, while also placing in first across a number of key attacking metrics for the Cottagers in the Premier League this season.

Evangelos Marinakis clearly means business, having set out to sign one of the Premier League’s most in-form players, and Wilson could be an excellent signing for Forest.
