Manchester City lost 3-1 to minnows Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday, meaning that Pep Guardiola’s side have won just two of their last seven games
Pep Guardiola has admitted that ‘everything is going wrong’ for Manchester City just days after it was predicted that he’d quit as manager this week. City suffered a shock 3-1 loss to Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Results on Wednesday could see Guardiola’s side drop out of the automatic qualification places ahead of next week’s final round of games. City’s defeat came off the back of losing the Manchester derby against bitter rivals United, who pulled off a 2-0 victory.
The Premier League title contenders have now failed to win five of their last seven games in all competitions. After City’s loss in the Arctic Circle, in which they were reduced to 10 men after Rodri was sent off, Guardiola admitted: “Today was an incredible opportunity for us but everything is going wrong, going against us in many details.
“That’s a fact and we have to try to change it. The players are there and we tried. I don’t have any doubt that in this competition, nothing is for granted, that’s for sure. United were better than us (Saturday). Today it was momentum that punished us.”

His comments come after presenter Richard Keys theorised that Guardiola wouldn’t be in charge for Saturday’s game at home to Wolves. “I think it’s nailed on that he’s gone at the end of the season,” Keys began on beIN Sport.
“But, do not rule out him leaving this week. This week. If he goes this week, [Enzo] Maresca will be in charge of the match against Wolves.
“City will be apoplectic, and they’ll deny it, of course, but it’s on his mind, I’m telling you, to leave this week. He does this a lot, so you can’t read much into it, but this time you can.”

Injuries have been a factor behind City’s struggles, as they lined up with a makeshift defence against Bodo. Guardiola is currently without centre-backs Ruben Dias, John Stones and Josko Gvardiol, and right-back Matheus Nunes.
City have brought in Marc Guehi from Crystal Palace to bolster their back line, although he’s ineligible until the knockout phase of the Champions League. “We arrived in some departments without important players… we are a little fragile,” Guardiola confessed.
