Pep Guardiola has announced that Manchester City will be his last club managerial role, though he hasn’t ruled out taking charge of a national team in the future.
The City boss made the revelation during an interview with Spanish chef Dani Garcia, stating: “I’m not going to manage another team.
“I’m not talking about the long-term future but what I’m not going to do is leave Manchester City and go to another country to do the same thing as I am now.”
The announcement comes during a difficult period for the Premier League champions, who have won just one game in their last eight matches across all competitions.

City currently sit fourth in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Liverpool after 15 games.
The struggles have been particularly evident in recent weeks, with more points dropped at the weekend against Crystal Palace.
Despite these challenges, Guardiola extended his stay at the club last month, signing a new contract that runs until 2027.
The 53-year-old manager revealed he has several personal interests he wants to pursue when he eventually steps away from football.
“I’m still young and when I stop, there’s several things I want to do,” Guardiola added.

“One of them is to learn French, dedicate my free time to myself so I can play golf and then begin to learn how to cook simple things.”
He admitted that golf already serves as therapy during difficult times, often watching major tournaments while preparing for matches.
The City manager highlighted the significant impact of Rodri’s absence on the team’s recent form.

“He’s been voted the best player in the world and of course we miss him,” Guardiola said.
“Imagine a scenario where Messi has just been voted best player in the world and we’re having to play without him for a whole year.”
“Rodri is at another level… These players are unique and they show that uniqueness especially in the bad times, when games are going against you.”

Despite the current challenges, Guardiola’s new contract ensures he will remain at the Etihad Stadium until 2027, potentially taking his tenure at City beyond a decade.
The immediate focus for the Spanish manager is Wednesday’s Champions League fixture against Juventus, where he will be hoping to guide his team back to winning ways.
“I want to leave it and go and play golf but I can’t,” Guardiola admitted, suggesting he remains fully committed to turning around City’s recent poor form.
