Pisa rescued a late point against Atalanta with a dramatic equaliser in the closing stages, cancelling out Nikola Krstović’s late opener to secure a 1-1 draw.

The hosts started brightly and were the more proactive side for much of the first half, winning a succession of corners and forcing Marco Carnesecchi into early saves. Henrik Meister and Idrissa Touré both went close as Pisa pressed high and moved the ball confidently, while Atalanta struggled to impose themselves beyond brief spells of possession.

Pisa 1-1 Atalanta – Exciting second half decides tight affair

After the break, Atalanta gradually grew into the contest, slowing the tempo and enjoying longer phases on the ball. Substitutions proved decisive for Rafaele Palladino’s side, and the breakthrough arrived in the 83rd minute when Krstović reacted quickest to a loose ball in the box and fired into the roof of the net.

A VAR check briefly halted celebrations, but the goal was allowed to stand.

Pisa responded immediately. Just four minutes later, Rafiu Durosinmi rose superbly to meet a cross from the right and powered a header low inside the far post, leaving Carnesecchi with no chance and restoring parity.

The final minutes were frantic but neither side found a winner, with Pisa pushing for a late surge and Atalanta seeing out the draw. In the end, it was a share of the points that reflected Pisa’s persistence and Atalanta’s late impact from the bench.
