The Kansas City Chiefs have fallen to a 5-5 record after their 33-19 loss to the Denver Broncos, which put the quarterback in a precarious position. The team needed to start winning again, as they must improve their position in the AFC West if they want to make the playoffs.
They have an overall record of 5-5, 3.5 games behind Denver, and no tiebreakers against the Broncos or the Los Angeles Chargers. Following the Week 11 loss, they fell to the ninth seed in the AFC. The Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, and Chargers currently hold the wild-card spots. To make matters worse, all three teams have defeated the Chiefs this season.

Something unexpected happened this week when Randi responded to a Kansas City fan’s post with a simple two-word message. The tweet read, “I still believe in our Chiefs,” to which Mahomes’ mother replied, “Me too“. The Chiefs fan had also attached a photo of a dejected Patrick Mahomes in his Chiefs uniform to the post.
Before the season began, Randi admitted that her biggest fear every Sunday wasn’t that Patrick would lose games. It was the risk of injury he faced on every play. That’s why she has always advised her son to prioritize his health over winning games. But now the Chiefs are going through a rough patch, as victories have been elusive. Hope is running low in Kansas City, as the AFC West is in jeopardy.

When Mahomes lost games against Indianapolis in 2019 and 2022, they were considered the pinnacle, the zenith, the Chiefs of the NFL. However, this year is different.
Kansas City has an atypical 5-5 record heading into their home game against the Colts, and if they lose this game, they are virtually out of playoff contention. The Chiefs still possess a potent offense under Mahomes’ leadership. Currently, they are seventh inpassing yards (2,489), eleventh in points (254) and twelfth in total yards (3,642).
