Rangers struck gold on “outrageous” star who’s worth more than Skov Olsen
Glasgow Rangers supporters will have to wait a little bit longer before they get to watch new signing Andreas Skov Olsen in action for the club.
Journalist Andy Newport revealed: “I’m led to believe Rangers can’t make any changes to the European squad. They can’t get these new boys in. I’d been thinking that there’s a rule that if you have an injury, you’re allowed to swap one of those guys out. But I don’t think that’s the case with new signings.”
This means that Skov Olsen will not make his debut for the Light Blues against Ludogorets at Ibrox in the Europa League on Thursday night.
Instead, the Denmark international will have to wait for the Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee at Ibrox on Sunday to play for the club for the first time since his loan move from Wolfsburg.
The Scottish giants signed the forward on an initial loan deal until the end of the season, with an option to make the move permanent for a fee of around £8.7m.
Where Skov Olsen ranks among most valuable Rangers players
Skov Olsen would become the second-most expensive signing in the club’s history if they decide to activate that £8.7m option to sign him permanently in the summer transfer window.
He would be sandwiched between the £8m signing of Youssef Chermiti and the £12m signing of Tore Andre Flo, provided the Light Blues do not splash out on any more expensive deals in the meantime.
The Danish wing wizard could be well worth spending such a big fee on in the summer if he can get back to the form that he showed during his day with Club Brugge, illustrated in the graphic below.
If he can deliver goals and assists on a regular basis, as he did in his three-and-a-half seasons with Club Brugge, Skov Olsen could be worth the money.
Despite having the potential to be the club’s second-most expensive signing ever, the Wolfsburg loanee is not currently the most valuable member of the first-team squad.

As you can see in the table above, Skov Olsen actually sits in third place behind Nicolas Raskin and Mikey Moore, whose performances have caused their market values to shoot up.
Whilst Rangers will be hoping to hit the jackpot with the loan signing of the Wolfsburg winger, the Scottish giants have already struck gold with one winger signing.

The Light Blues signed Moore on a season-long loan from Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur last summer, and he was only 17 at the time they agreed the deal, although they had to wait till he turned 18 for him to make his debut.
It was a risk to bring in such a young player, who had never played outside of England or Spurs, because there was no telling how he would adapt to playing regular first-team football with high expectations as an 18-year-old.
That risk looks to be paying off for the Scottish giants, though, because he has become one of Danny Rohl‘s top performers in the Premiership, impressing out wide on both flanks and as an attacking midfielder in recent weeks.
Moore, who was described as an “outrageous” talent by U23 scout Antonio Mango, has scored three goals and provided one assist in 11 starts for Rangers in the Premiership, and all three of those goals have been for Rohl, after he failed to score for Russell Martin.
His goal in the 3-1 win over Celtic at Parkhead, shown in the clip above, will also ensure that supporters will never forget his time at Ibrox, even if he does not extend his stay beyond his initial loan spell.
The England youth international is a fun player to watch, averaging 1.1 successful dribbles per game in the league, because he takes players on and looks to make things happen, which is particularly helpful when Rangers are trying to break down stubborn defences.
Even if he does not deliver the final touch for a goal or an assist, Moore has the quality to spark moves for Rangers to create chances by doing something different, whether that’s with a dribble, a bit of movement, or a clever pass.
Moore has been a big success at Ibrox, given his age and inexperience before his move to the club, and it is fair to say that he has been a brilliant signing.

Glasgow Rangers could end Nasser Djiga’s spell at the club by signing this star this month.
However, given that his market value is even higher than Skov Olsen’s, it remains to be seen whether or not a permanent deal is viable for him in the summer window.
