Rangers’ transfer window managed by AI as Danilo quits and Ryan Naderi joins
Need to know
As the 2026 January transfer window enters its final days, Rangers find themselves in a title race under Danny Rohl. Here is the strategy to strengthen the team, according to AI
We asked AI to dictate Rangers’ transfer policy for the final few days of the winter window, and here’s what it said:
- We told AI to pretend it was in charge of transfers for Rangers and to recommend some ins and outs before the window shuts on February 2.
- Secure Ryan Naderi from Hansa Rostock: Despite the current “gag order” by the club and stalling negotiations, Naderi is the key man to provide much-needed competition for the striker role. Rangers should test the German side with an improved offer to ensure Danny Röhl has a young, dynamic striker capable of sharing the goal-scoring burden.
- Retain Youssef Chermiti amid Turkish interest: Rangers should firmly reject any further bids from Fenerbahce, even if they exceed the recent £13million offer. While he has struggled for consistency, his brace against Celtic proved his big-game temperament and losing a key forward mid-season would be detrimental to their title hopes.
- Block Djeidi Gassama exit to Monaco: The club has already reportedly rejected a £10m loan-to-buy offer and should maintain this stance to protect their attacking depth. Gassama’s recent form makes him indispensable for the run-in and his long-term contract ensures his value widll only increase by the summer.
- Sell Danilo to raise funds: With a £2m bid already on the table from Pafos, now is the time to move the Brazilian forward on. His time at Ibrox appears to be coming to a head and offloading his wages will provide the necessary flexibility to finalise incoming deals.
- Resist interest in Emmanuel Fernandez: Both Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund are circling the 24-year-old defender but Rangers must keep him until at least the summer. His transformation into a top player is a cornerstone of their defensive stability and his departure now would be impossible to replace on short notice.
- Consider late move for Tawanda Maswanhise: The £4m-rated Motherwell star has been linked with a move to Glasgow and would provide a versatile option for the wings. Signing him would add much-needed pace to the squad while also serving as a strategic buy to prevent him from joining rivals.
- Offload Rabbi Matondo to Norwich City: With Philippe Clement reportedly keen on a reunion, Rangers should look to finalise a sale for the Wales international. Selling Matondo would complete a successful squad clear-out.
