Report Maresca could follow Ancelotti’s glorious footsteps at Real Madrid in 2026

According to the latest reports, Enzo Maresca could follow in the footsteps of Carlo Ancelotti by taking charge of Real Madrid after Xabi Alonso was fired, but Jurgen Klopp is the dream candidate.
There had been notorious issues within the club this season, but it was still a shock today when Real Madrid announced that Xabi Alonso had departed the bench just hours after a 3-2 Spanish Super Cup defeat to Barcelona.
Multiple sources maintain it was not a mutual decision, so he was sacked just seven months after taking over from Italian legend Ancelotti.
Real Madrid feel Maresca can replicate Ancelotti era

Spanish reports tonight claim that Florentino Perez is eager to get back to the Ancelotti style of management, which includes bringing Italian fitness coach Antonio Pintus in once again.
While their ideal coach to hire is ex-Liverpool boss Klopp, that seems unlikely midway through the campaign.

Instead, Footmercato maintain that Real Madrid very much appreciate the style of another Italian, Maresca, who is available after his split with Chelsea.
Maresca, who turns 46 next month, had picked up 14 wins, seven draws and seven defeats at Chelsea this season before the departure on January 1.
However, he too might not be inclined to accept if he feels he’s being used as a stop-gap until Klopp can be reconsidered in the summer.
