Rio Ferdinand says he wants to see Manchester United appoint either Roberto De Zerbi, Thomas Tuchel or Xavi as Ruben Amorim’s successor following the Portuguese manager’s sacking on Monday.
The former defender has named his four-man shortlist for the Old Trafford role, which also includes his former team-mate Darren Fletcher, who has been appointed interim United boss after Amorim’s departure.
While De Zerbi is in charge of Marseille and Tuchel is set to lead England into the 2026 World Cup, only Xavi is currently available after departing Barcelona at the end of the 2023/24 season.
