Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto has been linked with a January move to Roma, and admits coming to Europe is ‘my biggest dream.’

The 24-year-old Brazilian is one of the names suggested as a possible reinforcement for the Giallorossi and had already been linked over the summer too.

He spoke to Spanish newspaper Diario AS about his plans for the future and specifically about the interest from Roma.

“Yes, returning to Europe is my biggest dream,” said Yuri Alberto.

“I’m also happy here because of where we are right now and the ambition of winning major trophies.”

It would not be his first experience of European football, as he had already moved to Zenit St Petersburg in Russia in January 2022 for €25m.

It was a short-lived spell, returning to Brazil with Corinthians just 12 months later following the invasion of Ukraine.

“It seemed a good idea when I went to Zenit, a good gateway to Europe, but unfortunately things happened that ended up putting a stop to that dream.

“I made my debut in the Europa League and it was special for me to play against Real Betis at the Villamarin. It is indeed my biggest dream to return to Europe and, God willing, play in the Champions League.”

He was asked which of the big five European leagues he’d like to play in and left the door open.

“I like and follow them all, the Italian, English and even German, while the Spanish league is very interesting.”

Yuri Alberto has one senior cap for Brazil, but is hoping to impress coach Carlo Ancelotti enough to earn a spot at the 2026 World Cup.
