MLS Cup 2025: Who are Inter Miami playing in the final?
The Vancouver Whitecaps will face Miami in the decider after winning 3-1 at San Diego, where USMNT international Brian White scored twice.
After signing legendary Bayern Munich and Germany forward Thomas Muller in August, Vancouver finished second in the Western Conference, level on points with table-toppers San Diego.
Jesper Sorensen’s side beat Dallas and LAFC to reach their conference final, advancing on penalties on both occasions.

The 2025 MLS Cup will be held on Saturday, December 6 and start at 14:30 ET (11:30 PT / 19:30 GMT).
Inter Miami vs Vancouver: Where is the MLS Cup 2025?
The match will take place at Miami’s Chase Stadium home, which has a capacity of 21,500 and opened in the year the club joined the MLS, 2020.
Only Charlotte, Philadelphia and San Diego won more home points during the regular MLS season than Miami, who won 11 and lost three of their 17 league games there.
As well as the win over New York City, Miami also beat Nashville 3-1 and 4-0 at Chase Stadium during the first round of the playoffs.
The Herons are moving to the 25,000-capacity Miami Freedom Park, set near Miami International Airport, in 2026.

MLS Cup 2025: Lionel Messi, Inter Miami results
Miami hosted Nashville, who they completed a double over with a 5-2 away win on the final day of the regular season, in the first round, winning the third and deciding match between the teams 4-0 with the help of two Messi goals.
Messi scored again as they beat Cincinnati 4-0 in the semifinals. They then thrashed New York City to reach the MLS Cup.
Messi and his teammates suffered a shock exit in their first playoff tie last season, when they were ranked first as the Supporters’ Shield winners but were knocked out by ninth-ranked Atlanta United despite winning the opening match between the teams.
MLS Cup: Have Lionel Messi and Inter Miami won the trophy before?
Inter Miami and Lionel Messi have never played in the MLS Cup. They won the Leagues Cup after the striker joined the club in 2023 and the Supporters’ Shield in 2024.
This season, Miami lost 3-0 at the Seattle Sounders in the Leagues Cup final and were beaten 5-1 on aggregate by the Whitecaps in the CONCACAF Champions Cup semi-finals.
They lost 4-0 to Paris Saint-Germain in Atlanta in the last 16 of the FIFA Club World Cup and came third in the Eastern Conference, level on points with Cincinnati and one behind the Philadelphia Union.
