Tino Livramento now a leading target for Arsenal, Mikel Arteta personally keen
Arsenal have now identified a “sensational” Premier League star as a leading target, with Mikel Arteta personally keen.
Gunners’ title hopes boosted after Bournemouth victory
Manchester City have slipped up in their last two Premier League matches, drawing against Sunderland and Chelsea, while the Gunners have remained consistent, most recently defeating AFC Bournemouth 3-2 at the Vitality Stadium.
As such, the north Londoners are now six points clear at the summit of the table, but despite their impressive form, the manager has hinted there could still be room for some new arrivals this month.
Arteta said: “We are open to every option. Obviously, if we can find a solution that is short, medium or long. It’s always much better because it gives you stability and you don’t have to constantly start a process with a new player.
“But let’s see what happens, let’s see what the news is in the next few weeks, and we’ll try to make the right decision.”
One position in which Arsenal have looked light at times is right-back, with Declan Rice being forced to fill in for Jurrien Timber and Ben White in the 2-1 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion last month, as both defenders were ruled out due to injuries.
According to a report from Football Transfers, the Gunners have now set out to bring in some fresh competition for Timber and White, with Newcastle United’s Tino Livramento being identified as a leading target.
Both Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are keen on signing the Englishman, as there is a belief he has similar attributes to Timber, meaning he could slot straight in at right-back.
Arteta is also a fan of the Newcastle star’s versatility, given that he is capable of playing on the left, but a deal could be on the expensive side, with a £80m fee being touted at the end of November.

Livramento could be “sensational” addition for Arsenal
The England international is held in high regard by Newcastle legend Alan Shearer, who described him as “sensational”, and he clearly has the talent to be a success at the Emirates Stadium, having established himself in the Premier League.
Indeed, the 23-year-old now has 105 top-flight appearances to his name, and he has done enough during that time to force his way into Thomas Tuchel’s plans, putting in a solid display for England against Serbia back in September.

As shown on international duty, the Newcastle star is very composed in possession of the ball, averaging a pass-completion rate of 85.8% over the past year, which places him in the 91st percentile, compared to other full-backs.
Arsenal have the best defensive record in the Premier League, but with the aforementioned report making it clear White is unhappy, it may be a wise idea to bring in another right-back, and Livramento could be a quality addition.
