Tottenham Considering Replacing Thomas Frank With Roberto De Zerbi

Tottenham have lined up a replacement for Thomas Frank for next summer, according to reports from Teamtalk.

I’s been another difficult season for Spurs who appointed the Danish boss as a successor for Ange Postecoglou who left the club after guiding the club to a 17th-place finish in the Premier League and Europa League glory.

Joining from Brentford, the hope was that Frank could get the north London side back on track but things have hardly gone to plan with Spurs sitting in the bottom half of the Premier League table once again.

Spurs have already lined up a replacement for Frank in the shape of Roberto De Zerbi. As per reports from Teamtalk. Spurs have the Marseille boss down as a candidate to replace the Danish boss at the end of the season.

Hailed as ‘a genius’ with ‘a touch of Pep Guardiola’, the Italian has also been linked with Manchester United and sees a move to Old Trafford as the ideal next step in his career. The report states that he is ‘ready’ for a new challenge, with a return to the Premier League being appealing.

While other names have emerged as contenders, the report claims that “De Zerbi’s prior Premier League success and existing backing inside the club position him prominently on the shortlist.”

He is under contract with Marseille until the summer of 2027.

While De Zerbi has a reputation for being a fiery character, there’s no doubting that he has everything needed to be a major success for Tottenham.

His time with Brighton was a massive success with the Italian boss gaining loads of plaudits for the effective, attacking style of play that he implemented so well, turning the Seagulls into one of the most entertaining teams in the Premier League.

Not only were they effective going forward and easy on the eye, Brighton were also a tough nut to crack and made life very difficult for their opponents.

In recent years, Tottenham have struggled to strike that balance between free-flowing attacking play and rigid, defensive structure and this is something that still needs sorting. Frank is losing the faith of many in Tottenham and it feels like he won’t be a long-term solution for them,.With uncertainty over De Zerbi’s future with Marseille, he could be the ideal solution for the north Londoners.
