Tottenham launch stunning offer to sign Real Madrid’s Aurelien Tchouameni
Tottenham Hotspur have now reportedly launched a record-breaking move to sign a Real Madrid star for Thomas Frank.
Frank responds to Tottenham fans after Burnley draw
It was yet another afternoon to forget for Tottenham, who needed Cristian Romero’s late equaliser to rescue a draw against relegation-threatened Burnley.
It’s a case of one step forward and two steps back for Frank, who thought he had relieved some pressure with a much-needed victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League in midweek.
The Dane was once again met with criticism from his own fans at full-time, but insisted that he is trying everything to turn things around in North London – telling reporters: “First and foremost, I want to thank them for travelling and supporting the team throughout the game, which they do.
“I’m sure they can recognise and acknowledge, especially the first half, the improvement there. We could and should have been out of sight.
“But also they acknowledge the willpower and character of the team that keep running, keep fighting to the end. We just need to keep going. We do so many things right, but there’s no doubt, it’s not dropping so easy for us.”
Whether the former Brentford manager will get the chance to turn things around is now the big question. The Lilywhites are certainly ready to back him in the transfer market, having already signed Conor Gallagher and young left-back Souza.
Before the end of the month, the North London club could also welcome Andy Robertson amid rumours that they’ve submitted an offer for his signature.
The focus very much seems to be on winners too, given that Spurs are also reportedly eyeing Aurelien Tchouameni at Real Madrid.
Tottenham launch Tchouameni offer
According to reports in Spain, Tottenham have now launched an offer to sign Tchouameni worth as much as €100m (£87m), which would smash their current transfer record.

Tchouameni knows all about winning, having picked up a Champions League medal in Spain, and would offer Frank an immediate upgrade on the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur in the middle of the park.
It would also be a sign of intent from those in charge at the club. Add the France international onto other signings that they’ve already made in the last six months and the ambition is clear for all to see.
Tottenham now in active talks to sign the “strongest striker” in Serie A
They could get one over on their rivals.
Whether Madrid are willing to part ways with their midfielder is another question. They’ve known all about his quality no matter the manager, with former boss Carlo Ancelotti saying in 2025: “He is very strong, forceful in duels and is always very well positioned defensively.
“I think the duo with [Dani] Ceballos, who is a different player, is good for the team. Because Dani is more of a possession player and Aurelien is more physical. Someone focused on the defensive aspect.”
