Tottenham now in active talks to sign Dusan Vlahovic; he wants Premier League move
Tottenham Hotspur are now in active talks to sign a Serie A star ahead of North London rivals Arsenal, according to recent reports.
Tottenham targeting second Liverpool star after Robertson
It’s been a busy week in North London. Not only have Tottenham welcomed their second signing of the January transfer window in the form of young left-back Souza, but they’ve also submitted an opening bid to sign Andy Robertson from Liverpool.
Thomas Frank is after experience at left-back following the injury to Ben Davies and Robertson would certainly offer exactly that. The Scotland captain is a two-time Premier League winner, Champions League winner, Carabao Cup and FA Cup winner. He has simply won it all. For the right price, it would be the perfect move for the Lilywhites.
But he’s not the only Liverpool player that Spurs are targeting. Recent reports have also claimed that the North London club are interested in signing Curtis Jones, who could leave his boyhood club.
Those at Anfield haven’t exactly shied away from selling players in the last six months and Jones could be next after Robertson, despite his recent progress.
For Spurs, it would once again be an impressive move and one which would offer Conor Gallagher a partner in crime in midfield. Whether they are willing to do their shopping in Merseyside more than once this month remains to be seen, however.
Instead, they could turn their attention towards improving their frontline following an injury-struck campaign for Dominic Solanke. Recent headlines have indicated that the Lilywhites could land a Serie A star ahead of arch-rivals Arsenal.
Tottenham in talks to sign Vlahovic
According to TeamTalk, Tottenham are now in active talks to sign Dusan Vlahovic, who is on course to leave Juventus as a free agent at the end of the season.
The forward’s representatives have reportedly kept both Spurs and Arsenal fully informed about their client all season long, as he sets his sights on the Premier League. Just which side of North London he chooses is the remaining question.
For Frank’s side, he would instantly become the main man ahead of Solanke and others. Even in an uncertain time in Turin, he has shown signs of his goalscoring prowess – netting three goals in just 8 Serie A starts.
Tottenham star misses out on move to France after injury with Spurs career ‘over’
It is a sad blow for him.
At this stage of his career, the 25-year-old arguably needs Spurs just as much as they need him. On paper, he should be at the peak of his powers. However, the reality is that he’s simply been kept out in the cold by Juventus.
It’s also key to point out that even though he’s fallen down the pecking order, Vlahovic has received plenty of praise at Juventus. Current teammate Filip Kostic even went as far as to describe him as the “strongest striker” in Serie A.
