Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones amid their ongoing pursuit of Andy Robertson, according to reports.

The north London side are working on a deal to bring in the Scotland international before the transfer deadline, with Robertson eyed as a replacement for the injured Ben Davies.

However, Spurs are also believed to be keeping an eye on Jones as a potential late target in the window and are willing to initially offer £30m as an opening bid.

Jones, who has been described as a ‘complete midfielder’ by Slot, has been an important player for Liverpool this term, making 28 appearances across all competitions, including 10 starts in the Premier League.

According to Liverpool insider DaveOCKOP, Tottenham could make a move for Jones before the transfer deadline, and his departure would likely make way for Liverpool target Adam Wharton’s arrival in the summer.

The Reds have reportedly placed the England international on their off-season shortlist and are likely to ramp up their interest towards the end of the Premier League campaign.

It is believed that Tottenham’s potential offer of £30m for Jones is unlikely to tempt Liverpool into a deal, as Arne Slot’s side are expected to seek more for the midfielder.

Both Robertson and Jones are held in high regard by Tottenham’s new assistant coach John Heitinga, who was part of Slot’s backroom staff last season.

A Liverpool academy graduate, Jones has made 207 appearances for the Reds to date, scoring 19 goals and providing 23 assists. The 24-year-old is under contract until June 2027.

Robertson could soon become the first senior player to join Tottenham from Liverpool since Robbie Keane’s move to north London in 2009.

The Scotland international is believed to be the subject of club-to-club talks between the two Premier League clubs, with Spurs eyeing a low-cost deal to sign the left-back.

According to journalist Alasdair Gold, if an agreement for Robertson’s arrival is reached, Spurs are expected to pay a ‘far lower’ fee than initially suggested.

Robertson has less than six months remaining on his contract with the Reds and is set to turn 32 next month.
