Leonna Mayor, who presents horse racing for Sky Sports and ITV, gave birth to her first child with Stuart Hogg last year, but she’s now revealed that they’re no longer together

Horse racing presenter Leonna Mayor has revealed that she and disgraced rugby star Stuart Hogg have split up. Sky Sports and ITV host Mayor shared the news on social media on Friday, almost a year after giving birth to their first child.

The pair went public with their relationship in November 2023, just days after Hogg’s ex-wife, Gillian, welcomed their fourth child. A year later, Hogg pleaded guilty to domestic abuse of Gillian.

The 33-year-old avoided jail but saw his reputation as one of Scotland’s greatest ever players tarnished. Hogg had also toured with the British and Irish Lions three times.

Mayor, 35, has now announced that she and Hogg are no longer together. In a post on Instagram, the former jockey wrote: “Now seems as good a time as any. Lots of you guys asking about my situation and life recently. I am no longer with Stuart. I appreciate everyone’s genuine interest in our life.

“I’m not one to discuss other people’s lives so won’t add detail. We’ll just say it’s just me and Teddy. It has been for a while now so I am in a position to be able to talk about our future with friends and family and those closest to us.

“New year. Fresh start. Me and the most precious thing. Lots of exciting things planned in life and work coming up.”

Their son, Teddy, was born in February 2025. “A beautiful perfect bundle on 12/2/2025 at just 4lb 6oz,” a delighted Mayor posted after she gave birth at a hospital in France.

The couple lived on the other side of the channel because Hogg plays French club Montpellier. Hogg retired from rugby two months before the start of the 2023 Rugby World Cup but reversed his decision last year.

“I gave up on my rugby career to try to save my marriage,” the ex-Glasgow Warriors and Exeter Chiefs star told the Rugby Paper. “At the time, I didn’t know who I was.

“I didn’t know what was going on in life, whether I was making people happy or sad. I used alcohol to escape. I was purely existing. I’m in a better place mentally than I’ve been in years. I used to think being selfish was strength.

“But I took that too far. I hurt people. Now, I’m learning to be selfless for the right reasons – for my kids, my partner, my team. I know I’ll never be the same Stuart Hogg I once was, but I’m okay with it. I’ve found peace.”

Hogg added: “I missed the camaraderie, the laughs, the buzz. I needed that back. The players and coaches [at Montpellier] value me, maybe because I finally value myself.

“The real downside is being away from my kids and getting the chance to go back and see them regularly. The hope is that they will be able to come out to France and see me.”
