UFC Fans Concerned at Justin Gaethje Appearance Weeks Before Paddy Pimblett Fight

The UFC returns on Saturday, the 24th of January, after a six-week hiatus with an absolutely stacked numbered event. UFC 324, which is the very first event which will be broadcast live on Paramount and CBS, will be headlined by a highly anticipated interim UFC lightweight title fight between Justin Gaethje and Paddy ‘The Baddy’ Pimblett. The two lightweight stars are fighting not only for a UFC belt, but for the chance to be Ilia Topuria‘s next opponent after he returns from his hiatus.

Although there was quite a lot of backlash following the announcement of Gaethje vs Pimblett, mainly due to Arman Tsarukyan’s exclusion from the lightweight title picture, the fight is pretty much guaranteed to be a barnburner, as they are two of the most exciting fighters on the planet.

The Scouser is quite a significant betting favourite ahead of UFC 324, which may seem surprising given the fact that Gaethje has plenty of experience in big fights against some of the best lightweights ever, but Pimblett has youth on his side, as well as a significant advantage in the grappling department.

Pimblett was already a big favourite to win, according to the bookmakers, but recently, ‘The Highlight’ has been pictured with wounds, which has led fans to speculate that he could be dealing with an injury or infection heading into UFC 324, which could further knock his chances of coming out victorious.

MMA fans are incredibly concerned about Justin Gaethje heading into his interim UFC lightweight title fight against Paddy Pimblett at UFC 324 after images recently surfaced of him with a wound on his neck.

In the image you can see below, the American has a visible wound on the right side of his neck, and fans also noticed another potential wound on his lip, which has led to speculation online that he could be dealing with a staph infection or injury ahead of his fight against Pimblett.

Shortly after speculation started, Gaethje addressed everything on social media and clarified that the wound on his neck is from an ingrown hair and that the suspected second wound on his lip isn’t actually a wound, it was just a piece of food.

Although the wound on Gaethje’s neck is confirmed not to be a staph infection, there will be some concern in his camp that he is dealing with what looks to be an incredibly sore wound just weeks out from one of the biggest and most important fights of his MMA career.
