West Ham Make 6 ft 5 ‘Machine’ Top Priority in January After Fullkrug Decision
West Ham United have made no secret of their top priority going into the January transfer window.
It’s been a tough season so far for the Hammers who are sitting 18th in the table and facing the prospect of a serious fight against relegation during the second half of the campaign.
A 1-1 draw against Manchester United at the weekend offered a glimmer of hope but with just 16 goals to their name this term, it’s clear that Nuno Espirito Santo needs additional firepower if they’re to start winning games on a consistent basis. Thankfully for supporters, that seems to be the main priority.
West Ham Step Up Promise David Pursuit
West Ham’s search for a striker will see them pursue a deal to sign Union Saint-Gillloise frontman Promise David, according to Sky Sports’ Rob Dorsett.
Taking to X, Dorsett said: “#whufc interested in poss deal for striker Promise David at Belgium side Union SG. 9 goals for club and country this season, he is 1 of several options. Striker no1 priority in Jan, with Fullkrug expected to leave — but Frankfurt interest in him has waned. Wolfsburg still keen.”
A 6ft 5in striker and described as a ‘machine’, David has scored 32 goals in 60 appearances since joining the Belgian side in 2024. He is tied down under contract until 2029.
A first team regular for Union Saint-Gilloise, the 24-year-old has started regularly this season and already scored nine times across all competitions.
It’s expected that a deal would cost in the region of £17million with Brighton also keen on a move.
West Ham Needs Goals And Fast
It doesn’t take a genius to work out why West Ham are in need of attacking talent. Nuno’s side are bereft of qualitty in the final third and simply can’t rely on just Jarrod Bowen to keep their heads above water, despite his brilliant performances.
Niklas Fullkrug’s agent has suggested that his client could leave the club in January, but, as reported by GIVEMESPORT’s Andrew Dillon, Fullkrug will not be allowed to just walk out on the Hammers.
As a result, West Ham’s move for David is surely going to be a priority.
Callum Wilson has done well of late but his fitness issues in recent years make him an unreliable asset in that area. In David, the Hammers would have a star who is well up for the physical battle of the Premier League while also having the quality to bag some vital goals.
